4. Cookies and Local Storage
ScanEdge AI uses browser local storage (similar to cookies) to:
- Keep you signed in (authentication tokens via AWS Cognito)
- Remember your position calculator preferences
- Store your cookie/storage consent preference
- Track whether you have seen the chat assistant prompt
We do not use third-party tracking cookies. We do not sell or share your browsing data with advertisers. You can clear local storage at any time through your browser settings, though this will sign you out.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure:
- Account data is managed by AWS Cognito with encrypted password storage
- Trade journal data is stored per-user in AWS S3 with server-side encryption
- All data transmission is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
- The website is protected by AWS WAF (Web Application Firewall)
- API endpoints are rate-limited to prevent abuse
- Security headers (XSS protection, HSTS, clickjacking prevention) are enforced
- Auto-logout after 5 minutes of inactivity protects your session
While we implement industry-standard security measures, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
6. Per-User Data Isolation
Your trade journal, performance analytics, and position calculator settings are completely private and isolated from other users. No other user can view, access, or modify your data. Each user's data is stored separately and identified by a unique user ID.
7. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may process your data:
- AWS Cognito — Authentication and user management
- AWS SES — Email delivery for alerts and contact form
- AWS SNS — SMS alert delivery
- Amazon Bedrock — AI chat processing (EdgeIQ)
- Google Workspace — Business email (info@scanedge.ai)
These services have their own privacy policies. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
8. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.
Trade journal entries are retained until you delete them or request account deletion. Scanner reports and signal data are retained for historical analysis and platform improvement.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
